Changes to Recertification Requirements RECERTIFICATION: CHANGES TO REQUIRED HOURS Based on stakeholders feedback indicating that the 60 hours of professional development required for FNWACCB recertification created a barrier for many applicants without the opportunity to obtain the necessary training, the Board of the First Nations Wellness/Addictions Counsellor Certification Board has revised the number of hours of professional development in addiction-related topics and reduced it to 40 hours, applicable from September 2010. NEW NATIONAL CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE FIRST NATIONS WELLNESS/ADDICTIONS COUNSELLOR CERTIFICATION BOARD The First Nations Wellness/Addictions Counsellor Certification Board is making important changes to facilitate its transition as a National First Nations Certification Organisation. New office premises are being set up by Vince Battistelli, FNWACCB new Executive Director, along with new telephone and fax numbers, including a 1 800 number that will enable our stakeholders and partners from all parts of Canada to access the organisation in an easy and cost-free manner. We are reaching out to our network of stakeholders and partners to make sure they obtain this important information, and continue to receive the information and the services they need.
