Specific qualifications, training and experience requirements for Indigenous Certified Addictions Specialist II
To be awarded certification as an Indigenous Certified Addictions Specialist II the applicant must possess the qualifications below:
| Level of education | High School Diploma or GED.Associate of Arts (AA) Degree or a two-year Certificate or Diploma in the Health or Human Services field from an accredited university or college, (e.g. Addictions/Wellness Counsellors, Social Workers, Wellness Worker, Community Therapy, Community Health Associates, Day Care Workers). | ||
| Training/Continuing education | Some certificates/diplomas/associate degrees do not include all the subjects/topics required for level I certification (ICAS I), in this case, to be certified for level II (ICAS II) applicants must demonstrate they have taken training/continuing education in these subjects/topics. You must demonstrate that you have the required number of hours in the following topics: |

| Experience | Three years full time work experience as and addictions counselor or supervisor. | 6,000 hours | |
